What Jarvis is
Jarvis is a personal AI assistant that one household runs on its own hardware at home. It helps its owner with personal productivity and home automation: answering questions about the home network and devices, reminders, shopping research, and similar everyday tasks.
Jarvis is not a public product or service. It has no sign-up and no other users; it is used only by its owner.
Gmail
With the owner's permission, Jarvis connects to the owner's own Gmail account using Google's read-only Gmail access. When the owner asks (for example "did I get an email about my delivery?"), Jarvis searches the mailbox and reads the relevant messages so it can answer.
- Jarvis cannot send, delete, or change email: it only has read-only access.
- Email content stays on the owner's own home server and is not shared with third parties.
- The owner can revoke access at any time from their Google Account.
